With an array of cuisines available at different locations, it can prove quite tricky to decide on the best place to visit. You will only find the best places by either carrying out background research before you visit or by asking the locals. This article will give you a brief guide on some of the best places to eat in Hull during your visit.

Dining at Hull Restaurants...

Hull and its surrounding area offer a wide array of places to eat and drink, more than you might imagine. Below is a handpicked selection of hull restaurants that has been put together from the recommendations of locals and visitors alike. What makes this list particularly unique is that all of these restaurants are family run and can lay claim to having the best ambiances in the East Riding area!

Artisan

One of the best regarded restaurants in Yorkshire, Artisan is located in a Grade II Listed Georgian town house in Hessle and offers a gourmet menu that is carefully selected to ensure the highest standards are maintained. Since opening in 2004 this "elegant-yet-quaint" restaurant has received a flood of awards including a listing in the Michelin and Good Food Guides.

Crofters

Crofters, in Anlaby, offer British cuisine in a homely-yet-stylish environment. Set in a conversion of two Victorian cottages, the restaurant covers two floors and has rooms suitable for private dining. Both a set menu and an a la carte menu are in operation and Sunday's menu offers a choice of two roasts, and a fish and a vegetarian option.

Ceruttis Of Hull

Located on Hull's old pier area in Nelson Street, and overlooking the River Humber, Ceruttis offers both fine views and fine dining. Specialising in fish dishes the restaurant has been run by the Cerutti family since 1974. Passing from parents to children, the business has gone from strength to strength and 'Cerutti 2' opened in 1989 at Beverley Station, a good tip for a pit stop if you are out in that pretty part of the county.

Leonardo's

Leonardo's also offers good views - this time of the harbour area from Princes Quay. Described as "a cool bar striking just the right balance between modern and classic", Leonardo's boasts a number of stylish interior touches as well as an enticing menu that includes 'Duo of Fish': chips with pan-fried salmon, battered haddock and mushy peas.

It is these types of restaurants in Hull, and many more, which not only entice you to visit with their appetising food, but also for a warm and friendly welcome. So depending on what your taste buds fancy, you will surely find a restaurant in Hull that can cater for your individual needs with a little searching beforehand.
